Kannawidan Ylocos Festival

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful and wonderful province. The capital of Ilocos Sur is Vigan City. Vigan is a World Heritage Site it is famous by colonial buildings that fuse Philippine and Western architectural design. And Vigan is a province that is rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. Also, it is rich in beliefs, traditions and practices or the province’s early inhabitants.

This year, the Vigan City celebrated its 192nd founding anniversary through the week long Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. And this festival is celebrated every year. Kannawidan is a variant of the Ilocano word "tawid" meaning heritage of inheritance. And Kannawidan is an Ilocano term meaning feast of rich heritage and culture. The locals create this festival to show and share their treasure to the whole word. There are many activities that will going to happen. Ilocos Sur held Street Dancing as one of the highlights of the activities. There are many fun activities such as fire work display, Miss Saniata 2020, motor show, concerts, fashion show and many more. This festival were preserving and sustaining our old traditions, attractive products and practices.

Celebrating this Kannawidan Festival this will help to enhanced and helped boost the demand of products. These traditions, customs, qnd cultures are revived to become more entertaining to give more fun and happiness to all the tourists in the province.
